Assistant Psychologist Location: Dublin 7 (The Navan Road) & Dublin 6 (Ranelagh) Contract: Permanent 1 Year Fixed Term Contract Working Hours: to be agreed Salary: €33,000 pa Reporting to: Clinical Lead (Principal / Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist) About Centric Mental Health Centric Mental Health is a primary care mental health and neurodevelopmental service providing holistic, person-centred assessment, support, and intervention services for children, adolescents, adults and families. Our work is grounded in respect for neurodiversity and a commitment to understanding each person in the context of their lived experience, strengths, and support needs. We currently operate across three multidisciplinary teams based in Dublin and Galway. We are committed to creating a collaborative and reflective working environment where clinicians are supported to provide high-quality, evidence-informed care, and where those who attend the service feel listened to, respected, and empowered in their care. We are currently seeking two Assistant Psychologists to join our Dublin based teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join a network of services that is evolving, with exciting plans to expand and deliver a comprehensive suite of primary care mental health supports for children, adolescents and adults. Role Overview This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a developing primary care service while gaining supervised experience across assessment, intervention, and service development. The Assistant Psychologist will work under the supervision of qualified psychologists, supporting the delivery of psychological assessment and intervention. The role is well suited to someone who is thoughtful, reflective, and committed to ethical, person-centred, and neuroaffirmative practice. A willingness to engage in ongoing learning, supervision, and collaborative team working is essential. Key Responsibilities Assist psychologists in the planning and delivery of comprehensive psychological and neurodevelopmental assessments, using a range of methods such as direct observation, semi-structured interviews and formal psychometric testing Contribute to the gathering and integration of information from multiple sources, including individuals, families, schools and other professionals Support the development of shared, strengths-based formulations that reflect the person's experiences, context, and goals Assist in preparing clear, accessible, and respectful written reports, in line with best practice and supervision guidance Contribute to the delivery of psychoeducation and supportive interventions, in line with service needs and under supervision Engage, where appropriate, with families, carers, and other professionals to support coordinated and person-centred care Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussions, and reflective practice spaces Support case coordination tasks, including maintaining up-to-date records and liaising with administrative team Contribute to service development initiatives, quality improvement, audit, and evaluation activities Engage in continuing professional development and reflective practice Work within professional and ethical guidelines, including those set out by the Psychological Society of Ireland Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records Engage in regular clinical supervision and line management meetings Demonstrate flexibility in working across service locations in line with service needs Essential Qualifications and Experience A university degree or higher diploma/conversion course obtained with first or second class honours in which Psychology was a major subject (QQI level 8 equivalent) recognized/accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
