Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer II on a permanent basis to join our team.Job PurposeThis role is for a Manufacturing Engineer II in the SES Production Unit team. The role is to lead engineering initiatives for daily support of Endoscopy products, processes, materials, and equipment to meet operations goals. In a fast-paced environment, this position will be primarily responsible for two manufacturing lines with secondary responsibilities for line support projects. This role will work cross-functionally with quality, production, process development, R&D, and project management teams to achieve goals and update, improve, or add new manufacturing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor performance of equipment and processes, providing troubleshooting and root cause analysis of non-conformances, low yields, or other quality/production issuesCommunicate effectively to an audience consisting of peers, operations management, and supporting divisions (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, etc.)Plan, organize and prioritize daily work to meet production and project goalsApply problem solving and process improvement methodologies to complex and diverse manufacturing processes, across multiple product lines – driving root cause analysis and resolutionTrain and/or provide work direction to early-career engineers (Engineer I, interns, etc.), manufacturing operators, and techniciansRecognize quality signals and escalate appropriately within the quality system requirementsLead projects with cross-functional team members working towards common business goalsWork collaboratively with divisional customer teams (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality, other) to deliver on new product introductions, change management, process improvements, or business continuity projectsGather, analyse, and summarize data – drawing conclusions, and reporting out to peers and managementWork with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc.Take initiative to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize them, communicate them to the appropriate levels and see them through to completionEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 3 years of relevant, professional engineering experienceProven experience in, and/or understanding of, manufacturing problem solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e. LEAN manufacturing)Proven ability to provide creative solutions and collaboratively draw ideas from cross functional teamsProven experience in Quality related issues such as leading a CAPA and NCEP SupportAbility to communicate at all levels of the organizationExperience in the medical device industryExperience with Windchill and/or MESExperience leading CAPAs and Supplier Engineering ProjectsPreferred QualificationsPrior Boston Scientific experience, preferred SES specific experience and knowledgeDevice assembly/testing and packaging systems experienceAs a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most – united by a deep caring for human life.
