Dublin Aerospace is a Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) based in Dublin, Ireland, specialising in Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 series aircraft, Landing Gear and APU overhaul. We are a leading player in the MRO market in Europe and have established ourselves as a high quality, reliable service provider.
The General Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee all aspects of Dublin Aerospace’s APU & Component business including strategic planning, operations, financial management and people leadership. They will manage and develop the APU & Component Repair and Overhaul Business and build a “World Class” Service Centre team through continuous improvement in productivity, efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction and quality. The role requires a dynamic leader with strong commercial abilities in engineering, business management and the aerospace industry.
The General Manager – APU & Components reports to the CEO, is based on site at Dublin Airport, Co. Dublin, and will be required to travel internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive long term revenue growth, market share and deliver profitability goals.
* P&L management; monitor and analyse financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to make informed business decisions, optimise overheads, and ensure financial health of the business
* Lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment while maintaining a culture based on excellent teamwork and unrelenting customer focus, with repeat business a priority.
* Oversee overall operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with aviation regulatory and safety standards. Would have direct reports from both the APU Workshop Manager and Component Workshop Manager.
* Develop strong relationships with key customers and long-term contracts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. Meet customer expectations with respect to turnaround, cost, reliability and quality.
* Develop strategic relationships and maintain strong business links with our key suppliers of parts and specialist repairs.
* Drive innovation and development of Capacity Planning/ Demand Management, identify and manage projects to increase internal capability in both APU and Component repair and overhaul.
* Present regular reports and updates on KPIs to the board of directors.
* Ensure compliance with all Safety, Quality, Company and Regulatory Authority requirements.
* Expand the portfolio of products through the introduction of new component capability in conjunction with Product Development.
* Support the Sales effort in a technical, customer support and commercial capacity.
* Play an active role as a member of the senior leadership of Dublin Aerospace and undertake other tasks and challenges which may be set as priorities by the Company from time to time.
Skills And Experience
* Proven experience in a senior technical/management role in the aviation industry or similar with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent OR time-served Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline with management experience.
* Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma will be advantageous.
* Strong technical and business abilities are essential, together with a high degree of commercial acumen and strategic thinking skills.
* Excellent analytical ability, outstanding organisational and leadership skills and problem-solving aptitude.
* Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
* The drive to continuously meet and exceed customer requirements and budgetary targets.
* Experience in planning and budgeting with strong knowledge of business processes and functions
