Clerical Officer - UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Dublin

Location: UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Santry, Dublin 9
Job type: Full-time Contract of Employment

Overview:

The focus of the role of Clerical Officer is to support the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic's mission - "to serve our
communities by providing outstanding patient care and to shape tomorrow's health system
through clinical and technological innovation, research and education".
The Clerical Officer will be responsible for supporting the quality & data collection function within
the hospital and will work closely with the wider UPMC SSC team.
The Clerical Officer will support management with collection of data within the hospital and compile
reports for distribution internally and externally.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manual and digital collection and dissemination of data on an ongoing basis as per
requirements set out by the organisation.
· Assist with conducting or supporting clinical and non clinical audit activities.
· Manage audits and reports on patient and customer complaints, compliments, and patient
satisfaction feedback.
· General administrative support to include "Travelling Fellowship" programme.
· Administrative oversight for Research & Ethics Committee and meetings.
· General administrative support.
· Ensure all data handling is GDPR compliant.
· Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by Hospital Management.

· Through the course of the working day or week there may be a requirement to work in other
areas of the hospital in line with patient requirements as requested by your line
manager/deputy or nurse management.
· Staff must produce satisfactory documentary evidence of all training and experience claimed
by them, if required to do so by the organisation.
· To respect the organisational values of the Hospital.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educated to Leaving Certificate Level or equivalent.

Proven experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.

A working knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is desirable.

Attention to detail, ability to multitask and maintain organisation in a busy environment.

Excellent IT skills: MS Office skills to include, MS Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge and experience of using an email system effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills, organisational and planning skills.

Ability to manage own workload and prioritise effectively.

Effective time management skills.

Ability to work on own initiative.

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
