This is a permanent role offering excellent career progression within a supportive and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of audit assignments, ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.The role may suit a candidate from an audit background with Top 20 experience who wishes to progress in a boutique audit firm where there is opportunity of responsibility and advancement. The role also provides an opportunity to develop skillsets in Corporate Recovery and Investigation work.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a varied portfolio of audit assignments across multiple sectors.Ensure comprehensive planning of audits, including risk assessment and briefing of team members.Engage directly with clients to obtain necessary audit evidence and prepare clear, well-documented working papers.Draft high-quality financial statements and audit reports, offering practical recommendations to address identified risks and control weaknesses.Oversee multiple assignments simultaneously, delivering work to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards.Develop key experience in a range of sectors in SME audits across all sectors (including service/retail/IT/construction/distribution), charity and regulated clients, as well as Irish entity of MNCs.Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.Provide regular updates to Audit Partner regarding progress and significant issues arising.Ensure compliance with relevant reporting and regulatory standards, including FRS102, FRS105, Irish & UK GAAP, and company legislation.Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff, playing an active role in training and performance development.Candidate ProfileQualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), ideally with experience in SME practice environment.Strong technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, FRS105, FRS102 and CA2014, with an awareness of current developments in the profession.Proven ability to design audit strategies and prepare engagement documentation.Demonstrated competence in financial reporting frameworks (FRS105, FRS102, Irish GAAP, CA2014).Experience working with a broad client base across diverse industries.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.Strong organisational and project management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple assignments concurrently.Good computer skills in MS Word, Excel and accounts software packages.
