Job Description
The role of a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 is pivotal in the delivery of quality services within the Emergency Department. As a senior member of the management team, this position demands exceptional managerial and leadership skills to facilitate effective communication with colleagues across various departments.
This role requires a strategic approach to service development, embracing continuous quality improvement and managing change to achieve organisational objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of best practice in Emergency Department services and be able to promote a patient-centred culture.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the CNM2 in the management of the Unit, taking responsibility for the safe delivery and coordination of nursing services for patients.
2. Plan, develop and monitor human and budget resource plans to ensure an effective and efficient service.
3. Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with organisational goals and objectives.
4. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
5. Provide clinical nursing leadership and proactively address ethical and quality of service issues with multidisciplinary team members and hospital management.
Essential Criteria
* Registration in the general division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
* At least three years recent relevant post-registration nursing experience in an acute hospital setting and a minimum of three years nursing experience in an Emergency Department.
* A recognised post-registration nursing course - Higher Diploma or Post Grad course, in Emergency nursing or equivalent or be in pursuit of same.
* Hold an up-to-date Advanced Cardiac Life Support course or be in pursuit of same.
Desirable Criteria
* Ideal candidate would have a Health Care Management qualification preferably at third level.
