AWS Lambda is a serverless compute service that lets customers run code without provisioning or managing servers. As part of the AWS Lambda team in Dublin, you'll work on one of the fastest-growing services in AWS, processing trillions of invocations monthly for millions of customers worldwide.
We’re seeking a Software Developer to join our Dublin-based team working on AWS Lambda’s Control Plane and Runtimes infrastructure. As part of the Control Plane team, you’ll design and build highly scalable, reliable systems that allow customers to provision power serverless computing for customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
This role offers the opportunity to solve complex distributed systems challenges at scale and deliver best in class serverless customer experience.
Key Job Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain critical components of the AWS Lambda service
Build highly available, fault-tolerant systems that operate at global scale
Collaborate with engineers from other Lambda teams both in Dublin and other locations
Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive testing and documentation
Participate in code reviews and design discussions
Optimize system performance, latency, and cost efficiency
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure service reliability
Contribute to team technical direction
Basic Qualifications
Experience in professional software development
Experience designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling)
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
