Job Title: P&C Underwriter Location: Dublin or Cork Working Model: Hybrid Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our client's growing Commercial team in Dublin or Cork. This role focuses on underwriting quality, broker relationship management, and commercial portfolio growth across Property and Casualty lines. Your Role Assess and underwrite new business and renewal submissions within defined risk appetite and authority limits. Build strong working relationships with broker partners to drive retention and generate new opportunities. Provide technical guidance and support to brokers, ensuring high-quality service and consistent underwriting decisions. Collaborate with colleagues in trading, claims, and business development to achieve commercial objectives. Monitor portfolio performance and identify areas for improvement through analysis of underwriting data. Support junior team members by sharing expertise and promoting best practice in underwriting standards. Contribute to revenue growth through proactive pipeline management and effective negotiation on terms and pricing. Maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements while ensuring a strong customer focus. Your Skills Minimum of 4 years' experience in commercial underwriting or sales, ideally within Property and Casualty lines. APA Commercial qualification essential, with a commitment to achieving CIP. Strong understanding of commercial products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment. Excellent communication and relationship management skills with proven experience working with brokers. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Results-driven with a proactive and collaborative approach.
