The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to be based at our location in Cork, working within the broader U.S. Controllership team. The role reports to the Director in Cork and will work closely with cross-functional business partners, supporting accounting, control and reporting activities of the region. We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to drive the quality of information reported in regional and consolidated financial statements and other management reporting packages by establishing strong collaborative relationships with various business partners.
This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting expert looking to expand their technical experience while also gaining experience in complex accounting operations and supporting disclosures in related sections of SEC filings. You will develop working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of management.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the end-to-end alliance and collaborations accounting process
* Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities for assigned accounts (e.g. journal entries, account reconciliations, royalty payments, etc.)
* Analyze and prepare variance explanations
* Prepare external filing and management reporting schedules
* Manage and coordinate related incoming and outgoing payments
* Maintain appropriate internal controls for areas of responsibility
* Support the preparation of the budget/forecast
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including Alliance Management, Financial Planning and Analysis, Corporate Development, Technical Accounting, Legal and various internal/external business partners
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent
* Experience with multinational organizations
* Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry preferred
* Attention to detail, organized and thorough
* Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
* Highly analytical and resourceful self-starter with excellent research capabilities, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
* Clear communicator (written and verbal) and have excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and other systems general is preferred; data analytics skills is a plus)
