This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Primavera P6 Scheduler to play a key role within a Project Management Office (PMO), supporting project managers and contributing directly to improved schedule performance, risk management, and project outcomes.
Purpose & Scope Of The Role
We are seeking a Primavera P6 Scheduler to join the Project Management Office (PMO) and support Project Managers across a range of business sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the efficient delivery of projects and programmes, with particular focus on schedule management, risk, resourcing, and cost control. The role involves developing, maintaining, and analysing project schedules for multi-disciplinary design projects from concept through to construction and handover. It also includes review and integration of contractor and supplier programmes into master project schedules, supporting reporting requirements, and helping to identify and implement corrective actions where required.

In this role, you will make a meaningful contribution to the successful delivery of projects by ensuring schedules are accurate, robust, and aligned with project objectives. You will help Project Managers maintain control of time, cost, and resources, while also supporting risk planning and analysis.
Your work will directly improve visibility of project performance, strengthen decision-making, and support the timely delivery of complex programmes. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by analysing project trends, capturing lessons learned, and supporting planning training and workshops.
Core Capabilities
Planning & Scheduling
Strong knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles, methods, and tools. Ability to develop, coordinate, track, and manage project schedules, identify critical issues, and support schedule performance across individual and portfolio-level projects.
Attention to Detail
High level of accuracy in reviewing, interrogating, and maintaining schedules, cost data, and reporting outputs. Able to spot issues early and ensure information is reliable and actionable.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Clients, Contractors, Consultants, and internal stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
Problem Solving & Initiative
Proactive approach to identifying schedule risks and issues, recommending corrective actions, and supporting timely resolution of complex planning challenges.
Teamwork & Self-Management
Works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with strong organisational skills, good time management, and the ability to self-motivate and deliver to deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant degree or higher diploma in project management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in project planning, scheduling, and control across road and rail projects in Ireland, varying in size and complexity.
Experience working in an engineering design consultancy in the UK or Ireland as a Primavera P6 Scheduler. Experience should include logic development, developing and maintaining baselines, critical path mapping / analysis, cost and resource-loading and adjustments including levelling, reporting metrics including earned value, e.g. SPI (Schedule Performance Index) and resource / cashflow profiling.
Proven knowledge of programme, risk, and resource management across engineering projects.
Experience developing Basis of Schedule documentation to support project schedules.
Strong report writing skills and the ability to present schedule information clearly and professionally.
Experience assisting with planning training and facilitating planning workshops is beneficial.
Experience with quantitative risk analysis techniques is advantageous.
Strong technical experience in delivery of projects within engineering consultancies and/or related construction projects.
Demonstrated experience working within accredited Integrated Management Systems (IMS) & Standards, including quality, data security, and risk.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Working Environment
This role is based in Ireland and will involve working closely with Project Managers and multi-disciplinary teams across a range of sectors. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, Clients, Consultants, and Contractors. Flexibility to support project needs across different locations and working arrangements may be required, depending on project demands. Hybrid, remote, or flexible working arrangements can be incorporated where business and project requirements allow.
