The Role and Responsibility of Care Staff
Job Purpose
Care Staff are members of the Day Services Department who deliver care in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. The role involves providing support, encouragement, and training to service users to participate fully in their work and education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Team Members in delivering services to those attending Day Services, ensuring safety on and off the premises.
* Support service users to set personal goals, develop plans, and advocate for themselves.
* Act as a key worker, assisting and supporting individuals to achieve their goals.
* Provide personal assistance in areas of personal needs, including intimate care.
* Contribute to the design and development of the Day Services Programme and record activities on an electronic management system.
Requirements
* Ongoing or near completion of a full Major FETAC Level 5 award in a relevant Healthcare Qualification.
* Interest in working with Intellectual Disabilities.
* Commitment to support people to achieve their goals.
* Motivation to work as part of a team delivering an excellent service.
