Job Role Overview
The role of a Senior Financial Manager is a critical component in the financial operations of an organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data, as well as identifying and addressing any discrepancies or variances.
* Responsibilities:
o Review and approval of month end close journal postings such as accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
o Ensure the reconciliation of fixed asset subledgers to general ledger accounts is accurate and complete, identifying any discrepancies or issues that require attention.
o Verify the accuracy of bank account reconciliations, including the posting of required adjustments, particularly for foreign currency payments.
o Review and approve lease-related journals to ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
o Evaluate deferred revenue related postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
o Monitor inventory valuation and accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
o Review and approve share-based compensation postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
o Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to identify and address any discrepancies or variances.
o Analyze variance analysis for both balance sheet and profit/loss items to identify areas requiring adjustments or corrections.
o Verify the accuracy of shadow books received from local offices, ensuring appropriate backup for each adjustment is present.
o Review bridge files and financial statements received from local offices to ensure numbers match the company's records and all adjustments have appropriate backup.
o Develop and maintain relationships with clients to foster a collaborative working environment.
o Document processes and continuously update them to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
o Manage project teams, overseeing medium to large-sized groups working on various projects.
