Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Western Alzheimers is recruiting Healthcare Support Assistants within our in-home Respite Sitter Service / Day Care. This is a CE Placement and a great opportunity for someone looking to return to work, up-skill and gain experience working with our elderly clients in a person-centered healthcare setting. You should be kind, reliable, patient and a good listener. The in-home respite sitter service may be the perfect job while you participate in healthcare support training to help you achieve QQI / FETAC Level 5. Coaching and mentoring will be provided to develop your confidence and competencies within your role. Duties include caring for people with Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia, assisting with personal care, preparing meals, social engagement and stimulating therapeutic activities.
