This role offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care within an environment that prioritises quality, respect, compassion, and excellence.Job type: Permanent / Full-timeResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and effective operational oversight of nursing services, ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.Manage day-to-day nursing operations, including staffing, rostering, and optimal use of resources across both day and night shifts.Lead and develop nursing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.Ensure adherence to NMBI standards, hospital policies, and clinical governance frameworks.Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and risk management practices.Serve as a key point of communication between nursing staff, senior leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.Oversee staff performance management, including appraisals, training, and ongoing professional development.Manage incidents, complaints, and audit processes, ensuring appropriate follow-up and compliance.Promote a positive, patient-centred culture focused on teamwork, respect, and high standards of care.Utilise IT systems and data insights to enhance reporting, decision-making, and service delivery.RequirementsRegistered on the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting.At least 5 years of management/leadership experience in a nursing role.Up-to-date ACLS certification or currently in pursuit of same.Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to manage and engage with staff at all levels within and outside the organization.Evidence of high clinical and professional competence.Proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate initiative.Management or leadership training qualification (desirable).Competitive salary with excellent opportunities for career progressionOngoing learning and development supportAccess to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
