The Role
The Facilities area is responsible for obtaining and maintaining UÉ’s headquarters and regional offices, including activities such as: security, property management, spatial planning, capital projects and building management. The function has the responsibility of delivering a highly effective Facilities Management Service for UÉ, this involves reviewing and implementing solutions to meet the current and future property and maintenance needs of the business, safeguarding the security of all UÉ’s facilities and locations and the management of the company’s complex fleet. It is an area that is and will be subject to significant change and expansion, supporting a large capital investment program, over the next number of years.
The Facilities Services team oversee and manage the provision of all technical and support services for the UÉ Premises nationally including asset management, health and safety, sustainability / energy management, technology, technical standards and business continuity. The team will also support the set‑up and integration of new properties and assets from the Facility Capital Projects and Infrastructure Delivery teams into Facilities Operations.
Reporting to the Facilities Services Technical Lead, the successful candidate will provide a broad range of key technical and support services for Facilities including asset management, health and safety, sustainability / energy management, technology, technical standards and business continuity. The role is highly collaborative and will work with the Facilities team and other business units within UÉ such as Sustainability, HSQE and IT to drive the strategic direction for the function.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support the Facilities team on strategically important projects as part of UÉT (Uisce Éireann Transformation project) such as Offices, National Stores and Depots, Laboratories etc. as part of the transformation of the water services industry in Ireland over the coming years.
Support the long‑term technology strategy for Facilities including space planning, CMMS / Maximo etc. relating to UÉ property.
Drive continuous improvement of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) – PM’s frequency and methods to current industry norms.
Drive reliability engineering and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM).
Ensure the documented compliance with statutory and legislative requirements and updates in respect of Health and safety, the environment, building and workplace regulations. Work closely with HSQE to develop and deliver safety programmes and safety action plans for Facilities.
Work closely with the IMS (Integrated Management Systems) team to ensure Facilities use the UÉ Document control process. Support and guide Facility document creators, reviewers, and approvers.
Support the various programmes of ISO / Management System audits as required.
Participate in and coordinate business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency planning activities for Facilities as required.
Support the delivery of energy reduction and sustainability programmes and climate action plans for Facilities. Co‑ordinate, analyse and trend key Sustainability performance reports for Facilities.
Work closely with the UÉ Sustainability team and support Facilities in the areas of Energy efficient design, green procurement, policy, etc.
Complete regular energy performance and benchmarking reviews.
Track energy accounts usage and project future budget forecasts for energy.
Review building efficiency and become SME for building automation systems.
Review building efficiency and energy in buildings efficiency.
The role requires flexibility to extend working hours and may require being a member of the on‑call rota.
Other activities as may be assigned from time to time.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards
Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation‑wide objectives
Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Relevant third level qualification and/or accreditation is desirable
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and/or relevant experience
Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others
Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions
Have excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
Ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed
Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results.
