About The Role
Emerald Locums are recruiting a
Basic Grade or Senior Social Worker
on behalf of our client, supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families across community, day and residential services in Dublin.
The role is grounded in a person-centred, family-focused and rights-based approach, working as part of a wider interdisciplinary team to help children reach their full potential and to empower families to feel supported, informed and included.
This position will involve direct work with
children and their parents/carers
, supporting them to understand needs, access services, and plan for positive outcomes, in keeping with national disability and safeguarding frameworks
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality social work practice with children and families, using a family-centred approach
* Complete holistic assessments, care plans and reviews, particularly for children with complex needs
* Work collaboratively within a Children's Disability Network / multidisciplinary team
* Support parents and carers to understand entitlements, rights, supports and available services
* Advocate for the rights, inclusion and participation of children and families in decisions that affect them
* Contribute to safeguarding, child protection and welfare processes
* Support group work, parent training and family support initiatives where required
* Maintain clear, accurate, confidential case records and reports
* Contribute to ongoing service development and quality improvement initiatives
* Provide guidance and supervision (Senior level)
Essential Requirements
* Recognised Social Work qualification
* Registration (or eligibility for registration) with CORU
* Experience working with children, families, disability or related services
* Strong communication, assessment and report-writing skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary settings
Desirable
* Experience in disability / children's disability network services
* Previous supervision experience (for Senior applicants)
* Knowledge of Irish disability legislation, safeguarding and children's services frameworks
* Experience in family-support approaches and complex case management
