Overview
A leading GxP consultancy is strengthening its senior leadership team with the appointment of a Senior Director – Practice Lead to lead, grow, and scale its UK & Ireland practice. This role is suited to a senior leader with deep experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, combined with strong commercial and business development capability.
You will take ownership of a defined practice spanning engineering, validation, and GxP services, acting as both a technical authority and a commercial leader across the region.
The Role
This is an end-to-end leadership position with responsibility for strategy, delivery, growth, and profitability within regulated pharma manufacturing settings.
Key responsibilities include:
Full P&L ownership for the UK & Ireland practice, including revenue growth, margin, forecasting, and cost control
Setting and executing the practice strategy aligned to pharma manufacturing, fill-finish, API, biologics, and advanced therapy environments
Acting as a senior technical authority across engineering, validation, and GxP compliance in GMP manufacturing facilities
Leading business development across the UK & Ireland: identifying opportunities, engaging senior stakeholders, and converting pipeline into revenue
Building and maintaining long-term client relationships with Heads of Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Site Leadership
Leading and developing consulting teams to deliver complex programmes, including facility build-outs, tech transfers, validation campaigns, and remediation activities
Owning proposal development, pricing strategy, and commercial negotiations
About You
You will be a credible senior leader with a strong foundation in pharma manufacturing and regulated environments, comfortable operating across both technical delivery and commercial leadership.
Senior leadership experience (Senior Director / Practice Lead / Head of Consulting or equivalent) within a GxP consultancy or regulated pharma environment
Proven P&L responsibility within professional services or consulting
Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing environments (drug substance and/or drug product)
Strong technical background in engineering, validation, and/or GxP compliance
Demonstrated success in business development across the UK & Ireland life sciences market
Track record of building client relationships and securing long-term consulting engagements
Experience leading and scaling consulting teams in GMP-regulated settings
Experience supporting CDMOs / CMOs and complex manufacturing networks
Exposure to brownfield and greenfield pharma facility projects
Established network across UK & Ireland pharma, biotech, and advanced therapies
