Fair Ways is a great place to work. We are a team. We care about each other and are all committed to making a change to the lives of the young people and service users in our care. We celebrate our staff and value their contributions.

Where and when do we need you?

Fair Ways are looking for a Catering Unqualified Teacher to work as part of our team at our specialist Autism School located at the new Eastleigh Campus of Glade School. This role supports a range of subjects with a primary focus on catering.

We create a person-centred programme to meet each child’s needs, adapting a unique autistic curriculum that addresses learning, social, emotional and communication needs, and nurtures independence and well-being. Students are placed with Fair Ways after other placements have not been successful and may have been out of education for a long period.

Responsibilities

* Individualised lesson planning, delivery of lessons, marking of work and appropriate differentiation to enable effective teaching.
* Helping young people draw up action plans for employment, education and training and supporting them to achieve these goals, with high standards of planning and delivery of the programme while supporting individual needs.
* Participating in the completion and monitoring of student assessments and being accountable for attainment, progress, and outcomes within your subject area.
* Supporting the implementation and delivery of each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Personal Education Plan (PEP) by providing data to monitor progress, set targets and plan lessons.
* Liaising and negotiating with Employers, Colleges, Universities, and training providers to provide opportunities for students.
* Understanding and willingness to learn how young people’s early life experiences may contribute to challenging behaviour, and intervening using positive handling strategies as part of a consistent team when needed.

Requirements

This role is offered at 37.5 hours a week on a term-time basis. All candidates must have a full driving licence and access to a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). The cost of the DBS will be met by Fair Ways.

Desirable but not Essential

While experience and qualifications are valuable, we welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our core values and can contribute to our in-house training and development culture.

Required qualifications

Teaching roles within frontline services require or work towards the following qualifications:

* To be qualified to A Level or equivalent.
* Specialist knowledge of a function, trade or craft acquired through advanced formal training (e.g., BTEC National Certificate / ONC level or A level or Scottish Highers in a related discipline, or equivalent advanced craft certificate such as City & Guilds Level 3/NVQ 3).

Let us look after you!

* Exciting opportunities: participate in staff incentives and recognition programs and enjoy a workplace that celebrates contributions.
* Work-Life Balance: Holiday Accrual, wellbeing day, and option to purchase additional holidays (up to 5 days).
* Health and Support: Simply Health, Employee Assistance Scheme, and access to salary advances via Early Pay.
* Growth and Development: Education Grant up to master’s level and leadership courses.
* Wellbeing: Team-building days, wellbeing initiatives, discounted gym memberships, and cycle-to-work scheme.
* Recognition and Rewards: Staff Awards, Long Service Awards, pension scheme, and Blue Light Card eligibility.
* Supportive community: Inclusive culture and diverse workforce values.

Benefits may differ depending on contract type.
