Exceptional Irish engineering and infrastructure client
to appoint an experienced
Design, Technical, Electrical & Commissioning Engineer
to support live projects across Ireland.
This is a hands-on role for a technically strong professional who enjoys being close to the work - combining electrical design, site support, testing, commissioning, and final handover across complex projects.
This opportunity will suit an
Electrical Engineer or a Qualified Electrician
who has progressed into
commissioning or engineering and is comfortable operating across both design and site environments.
The Role
You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, including:
* Electrical design development (schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, specifications)
* Load calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and equipment selection
* Providing technical support to project and site teams
* Overseeing electrical installation works on site
* Leading and supporting testing, commissioning, and energisation activities
* Working with LV/HV systems, MCCs, motors, drives, UPS, generators, earthing and lightning protection
* Reviewing commissioning documentation, test results, and as-built drawings
* Supporting handover, client inspections, and final acceptance
Projects typically include
infrastructure, utilities, water/wastewater, and technically complex electrical installations

What We're Looking For
* Qualified Electrician or a degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* 2–5+ years' experience in electrical engineering and commissioning
* Strong exposure to site-based electrical works and commissioning activities
* Experience with HV/LV power systems and electrical distribution
* Ability to read, interpret, and produce electrical drawings and specifications
* Confident in troubleshooting issues on live sites
* Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
Essential Requirements
* Living in Ireland
* Full, clean driving licence
* Fluent in spoken and written English
* Willingness to travel to project sites
* Eligible to work in Ireland
