You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising database solutions that power critical business systems. This role will also leverage cloud-based platforms—particularly AWS—to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain SQL-based databases and data models.Optimise database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.Build and maintain ETL processes for data integration from multiple sources.Work with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Redshift, S3, Glue) to support cloud-based data solutions.Develop and manage dashboards, reports, and visualisations using Amazon QuickSight and similar tools.Collaborate with application developers, BI analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights.Ensure database security, compliance, and adherence to best practices.Essential Skills & ExperienceExpert-level proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or equivalent) and relational database design.Experience with multiple database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle).Strong background in AWS cloud data services (RDS, Redshift, S3, Glue, etc.).Experience with Amazon QuickSight or other BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).Knowledge of ETL pipelines, data warehousing concepts, and performance tuning.Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum environments.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Desirable SkillsScripting/programming experience (Python, Shell, etc.).Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).Experience with data governance, security, and GDPR compliance.
