Overview
Susquehanna has a job opportunity available for an attorney to join our in-house counsel / legal team in our European headquarters in Dublin.
The role is to advise on the full range of employment law matters which affect the business of Susquehanna and affiliates across the Europe.
This role requires an experienced lawyer with proven ability to manage stakeholders across a range of business functions and a deep knowledge of employment law in Ireland (and ideally knowledge of or experience advising on employment law matters in other European jurisdictions).
In this role, you will gain insight into our business while counseling and advising on a broad array of employment related issues.
Your role will be that of a liaison, strategizing with internal and external colleagues and business management teams on a comprehensive array of issues.
In this role, you will:
Provide legal advice on a broad range of employment topics, including recruiting, hiring, restrictive covenants, training, performance management, separations and occupational health and safety.
This also includes advice on compliance with relevant employment laws and associated guidance in Ireland and corresponding regimes in Europe.
Stay up to date with legal and regulatory developments which impact Susquehanna as an employer in Ireland and Europe and work with internal stakeholders to develop timely responses to those developments.
Update and draft workplace policies and handbooks.
Draft and negotiate contracts of employment and related documentation.
Develop and deliver training on employment law topics.
Manage relationships with external counsel as needed.
Work closely with other members of the Susquehanna legal team and key business stakeholders such as the Human Resources Team, business heads and other senior business leaders to implement the goals above.
Lead internal process reviews and participate in internal investigations
What we're looking for
Holder of a current practising certificate in Ireland or UK.
Excellent written and communication skills
Strong organization, effective planning, problem solving, and analytical skills required
7+ years' post admission experience, ideally including experience at a top-tier law firm.
Ability to deal confidently with senior business leaders and other stakeholders and show the initiative and assertiveness needed to proceed with projects and accomplish tasks.
Ability to work across different legal jurisdictions.
In-house legal experience would be highly regarded.
In addition to employment law expertise, experience financial markets law would be highly regarded.
