Glebe Builders are seeking an
Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
to join our team. The role involves working closely with Directors, Project Managers, and site teams in the commercial management of construction projects from tender stage through to final account.
Role Overview
The Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for assisting in the commercial and contractual activities of projects, ensuring accurate cost control, procurement, reporting, and subcontractor management in line with company procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Liaise with Directors, Project Managers, and construction teams on commercial and contractual matters
* Assist in reviewing tenders with estimators, including rates and measures
* Receive and manage project handover from estimating
* Carry out remeasurement of works
* Assist in setting project budgets, including labour, plant, material, and subcontract packages
* Prepare procurement schedules and buying/drawdown packs
* Assist in subcontractor procurement and appointment in accordance with company procedures
* Prepare subcontract orders in line with procurement schedules and contract programmes
* Manage subcontractor accounts, including remeasurement, interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Prepare monthly client and subcontractor valuations
* Assist with monthly accruals, CVRs, and cost reporting
* Maintain and update variation logs and assist with variation submissions and agreement
* Monitor weekly costs, productivity, labour, and plant usage and report on same
* Attend site regularly
* Assist with cash flow forecasting and monthly reporting
* Work closely with finance and commercial teams on cost control and reporting
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
* Experience with cost reporting, valuations, and subcontractor accounts
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work with senior management and site teams
