Job Title: Medical Waste Driver Location: Dublin Department: Operations / Transport Reports To: Medical Waste Operations Supervisor Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Working Hours: 40 hours per week, early starts required Salary: Starting from €33,000 per annum, paid fortnightly Job Overview: We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Medical Waste Driver to join our team in Dublin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the collection and safe transportation of clinical and hazardous healthcare waste from client sites to licensed treatment and disposal facilities. This is a key position in ensuring the safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible management of healthcare waste in accordance with Irish and EU regulations. We are seeking a professional who is customer-focused and committed to the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Safely collect and transport clinical and hazardous medical waste from hospitals, GP practices, dental surgeries, laboratories, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers. Operate and maintain company vehicles in full compliance with RSA (Road Safety Authority) and ADR (European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) regulations. Conduct daily vehicle checks (pre- and post-shift), report any defects promptly, and maintain accurate transport logs. Complete and manage all waste transfer documentation in accordance with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and Department of Environment guidelines. Load and unload waste containers safely, ensuring they are properly secured and handled according to company and regulatory procedures. Consistently wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety protocols. Deliver excellent customer service on-site, acting as a professional representative of the company at all times. Report any safety incidents, near-misses, or compliance issues without delay. Qualifications & Experience: Full, clean Category C or C1 driving licence (essential). Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Tachograph Card (essential). ADR certification (preferred; if not already held, must be obtained within an agreed timeframe). Minimum of 1 years commercial driving experience, ideally within waste management, transport, or logistics sectors. Previous experience handling hazardous or clinical waste is a strong advantage.
