Saint John of God Liffey Services provides a network of education, training, employment, respite and community living supports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Kildare and Dublin. The role is Staff Grade Psychologist (Full Time, 35 hours per week) based in the Kildare and West Dublin regions.
Responsibilities:
Provide psychological services to adults with intellectual disabilities.
Work in multi-disciplinary teams to support service‑users, families and frontline staff.
Deliver person‑centred, compassion‑focused care.
Support service evaluation and encourage research initiatives.
Maintain strong links with university training courses and promote continuing professional development.
Collaborate with teams, consulting with families and other professionals to design, implement and monitor therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications:
University degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) in Psychology, with honours.
Irish post‑graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Department of Health.
Demonstrated competence working with adults with intellectual disabilities (e.g., 60 days or equivalent supervised clinical placements or post‑qualification supervised work experience).
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Excellent oral and written communication and organisational skills.
Full Clean License and access to own vehicle.
Desirable criteria:
Experience working with adults with intellectual disability and neurodivergence.
Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support assessment and intervention.
Experience with psychometric assessments, including dementia.
Interest in participating in or undertaking research in intellectual disability.
