Role Summary
We are looking for a seasoned R&D leader to spearhead a newly established global initiative focused on cardiovascular technologies. This position will oversee cross-functional teams across multiple international locations and play a pivotal role in driving product innovation and development within a collaborative medical device environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Technical Leadership
* Lead the planning and execution of a global device development program.
* Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and budget adherence.
* Collaborate with clinical experts to gain insights into unmet medical needs and translate them into product concepts.
* Ensure technical excellence and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
Team Management
* Directly and indirectly manage a diverse team including engineers, technicians, and a project manager.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to support their professional growth.
* Conduct regular performance reviews and team meetings to drive engagement and accountability.
* Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Collaboration
* Work closely with global R&D counterparts and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
* Identify and engage with external partners and suppliers to support product development.
* Contribute to the development and protection of intellectual property within the cardiovascular portfolio.
Quality & Compliance
* Ensure all activities align with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
* Maintain high standards of safety, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
* Communicate project status, risks, and milestones effectively to stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* At least 10 years of experience in medical device R&D, with a strong track record of bringing products to market.
* Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, managing and developing engineering teams.
* Prior experience with cardiovascular specifically embolization technologies is highly desirable.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
* Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
* Deep understanding of medical device materials and design principles.
* Familiarity with intellectual property processes and global regulatory standards (ISO, FDA, EU).
* Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
