The Bus Driver has the primary responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the children, staff and volunteers during bus transportation to and from the centre and on day trips.
It is also the role of the Bus Driver to:
1. Guarantee that the bus is always clean and in proper working condition
2. Determine and follow safe and efficient bus routes
3. Ensure all children are in age-appropriate child safety restraints
4. Assist in ensuring child/staff ratio is maintained on the bus
5. Maintain all transportation records required by the Creche.
6. Ensure bus evacuation drills are held at least monthly
7. Evacuate children in case of emergency
Essential Skills
1. Patience and kindness towards children and staff.
2. Cleaning and maintenance of buses and Creche vehicles.
3. Excellent Listening and Communication Skills
4. Ability to identify and escalate issues where necessary
5. Previous experience driving a minimum 8 seater bus.
HOURS OF WORK:
25 hours per week, over 5 days. Split shift. To be confirmed.
