The Paediatric Complex Care team is expanding due to an increase in children being referred to the service. The Complex Care Team support children and their families across NHS Highland in the home environment and wider community.
This is a very rewarding post that enables children and families to access education and allows parents to have a restful sleep, knowing their child is being cared for to a high standard. The post holder will join a team to support the children within the service, accompanying the child and/or family during school and nursery, hospital appointments or admissions, outings and respite throughout their shift.
Experience of working with children and/or community care experience is essential to this role.
Training and support will be provided to achieve various tasks and skills with assessed competency. Training takes approximately 8 weeks. Upon completion, the post holder will work alone with the child/family with direct responsibility for the child’s healthcare needs, under the guidelines and protocols and with support and assessment from the team leader.
This role is expected to be flexible and involves a variety of day, evening, weekend and night shifts as part of a 24/7 service.
Children live in various locations across NHS Highland; travel is essential. Travel expenses will be reimbursed and accommodation provided for stays.
Access and use of own car is essential.
