Location: The business has offices in both Cork and (later this summer) Wicklow. Both options can be considered for this role. Hybrid working may also be considered.

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Package: up to €60,000 - includes performance related bonus

Reporting to: Head of Sales & Marketing and liaising with Company Directors

Start Date: As soon as possible with June 2025 preferred

Cool Running Events are seeking an ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. As a small but over-achieving company, with large growth on the horizon, we have identified the need to develop our Sales & Marketing Department.

We currently operate 6 experiences nationwide (with another opening in Summer 2025!) across 2 award-winning seasonal businesses, Zipit Forest Adventures and Iceskating.ie. We currently attract over 300,000 visitors annually and we plan to increase this number significantly over the next 18 months.

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will be the driving force behind our visitor growth and revenue and will shape and refine sales strategies, develop new partnerships, and strengthen existing ones with corporates, groups, schools, and clubs, predominantly. They will also be responsible for identifying retail and ancillary product opportunities across all businesses and collaborate with internal teams to create unforgettable experiences for our audience. Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Growth

* Help set optimistic but achievable KPIs through an all encompassing sales strategy and report to Directors on performance on a monthly basis.
* Proactively identify and pursue new and existing market opportunities across existing and unexplored markets, ancillary products and retail and merchandise items.
* Effectively manage relationships with existing and prospective customers through inbound and outbound communications.
* Assist the Head of Sales and Marketing in strategy development and implementation.
* Use sales training/knowledge to maximise lead generation and conversions.

Market Insights & Collaboration

* Know our markets! Use competitor activity, customers feedback and industry trends to inform our decisions on product development and shaping sales strategies.
* Regularly collaborate on the marketing strategy to ensure all actions are as impactful as possible.

Performance Tracking

* Maintain accurate sales records and relationship updates with key customers.
* Provide regular performance reports to senior management.
* Identify best practice tools to assist in performance and relationship management.

Networking & Brand Representation

* Be a face (and voice) of the business at networking events and through all customer communications and promotional events.
* Represent the brand with an authentic and friendly energy during all communications.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential Requirements

* Previous experience in a business development, sales, or account management role.
* Strategic thinker, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated, proactive, organised and results-driven.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Experience of the local Irish adventure market
* Full Irish drivers license

Desirable (but not essential) Experience

* Experience in seasonal experiences, adventure tourism, outdoor recreation, and/or the activity centre industry.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tracking tools.
* Familiarity with retail operations.
* An outdoorsy/adventurous mindset is a plus!
