About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in mechanical design, project management and leadership skills.
Job Description
The successful candidate will lead and deliver mechanical design across various projects in the water sector, including municipal water and wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants. The role involves working within a design team, collaborating on design work and deliverables, designing from conceptual phase to project completion, developing Preliminary and Detailed Design reports, calculations and drawings, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring all designs meet relevant standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver mechanical design across a range of water sector projects
* Work within a design team, collaborating on design work and deliverables
* Design from conceptual phase to project completion
* Develop Preliminary and Detailed Design reports, calculations and drawings
* Mentor junior engineers, promoting knowledge-sharing and team development
* Evaluate and select suitable equipment and materials
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure design aligns with business goals
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet agreed targets
* Ensure all designs meet relevant standards and specifications
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, 7+ years of post-graduate experience, excellent computer skills, familiarity with AutoCAD 'Plant 3D' modelling, good academic record, full clean driving license and own transport, fluent written and spoken English, and excellent interpersonal skills.
