Aspect Team Leader
Aspect AS Support Service
Rock Street, Tralee, Co Kerry
Permanent Contract, 39 hours
Job Purpose
The purpose of the job is to work effectively as a member of the Aspect Leadership Team. S/he will seek to ensure that the highest standards of professional support and intervention is adhered to at all times. Clients of the Aspect Service are over 18 years of age, finished in second level education, and have a primary diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome (A.S.)/ ASD Non-ID.
S/he will achieve this through effective leadership in equitable, accessible, person-centered service, based in the community.
The person appointed to this post will work within the Aspect Service; working as part of multi-disciplinary team delivering a coordinated approach to client support and intervention. S/he will be required to work as a Key Worker for individual clients, as agreed with the Manager/Assistant Manager of the Service. S/he will work in a supervisory capacity to members of the Aspect Team, and will have responsibility over individual specialty area(s).
Minimum Education & Skills required
§ Essential: A minimum of three years' experience working in the field of disability, education or training.
§ Essential: A third level degree in Social Care, Education, or Health.
§ Essential: progressive understanding of ASD non-ID, including Asperger's Syndrome/High Functioning Autism.
§ Essential: Qualification or demonstrable experience in a supervisory role.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
§ Work effectively as a member of the Aspect Leadership Team. To keep up-to-date statistics and other administrative records as required within the Aspect Service. and participate in service improvements
§ Support Key Workers to apply a holistic approach to identifying client's individual needs. Support the implementation of effective and client-led interventions to meet those needs. To include close collaboration with Multi-Disciplinary team.
§ Work as a Key Worker for individual clients. Ensure high level of achievement of all duties and responsibilities required of the Key Worker role. Lead by example for other Key Workers.
§ Demonstrate sufficient experiential knowledge, reasoning skills, and evidence-based practice to carry out duties and responsibilities of the role. To include applying knowledge of best practice under headings of client support & intervention and team support & leadership
Additional requirements
§ Work in a confidential team working environment, which includes lone working arrangements. Typical working hours are between 8am – 6pm, Monday - Friday. Flexibility regarding evening and Saturday working is required.
§ Play a supervisory role in the effective relationship and interaction with the service's key stakeholders, particularly with the Aspect team, clients, their support networks, training agencies, educational services, and the HSE.
