This position is in the Group Planning & Performance Management department. Our mandate is to provide analytical and reporting support for all of PartnerRe. This position will be based in our Dublin office. As a Business Unit Underwriting Analyst you will be assigned to specific Business Units (BUs) and support their management with Underwriting Reporting and Analysis tasks.
About the role
* Act as Business Partner to Division CEOs and their leadership teams, improving the impact and understanding of underwriting reporting on business performance; provide analysis and insights that support business decisions and ensure underwriting targets are met.
* Collaborate across multiple functions within PartnerRe, including market-facing Underwriting, Underwriting Operations, Re/insurance Accounting, and Finance.
* Manage the creation of PartnerRe’s non-life production plan on an underwriting year basis.
* Produce PartnerRe’s non-life outlook (extrapolate the production numbers on a quarterly basis).
* Support BU teams in the preparation of the quarterly Ops Review, a quarterly 360-degree review of a BU’s performance across key functions.
* Review and challenge the quarterly premium estimate updates performed by BUs’ underwriters.
* Assess the credit worthiness of clients.
* Assist with commutation activities as needed.
* Support internal and external audit requests as needed.

Technical Skills
* Advanced analytical expertise: demonstrated success in leveraging data to drive insights and inform strategic decisions.
* Tool proficiency: experienced Excel user (advanced formulas and pivot tables), Power Query, and Power BI for data transformation, visualization, and reporting.
* Data interpretation: skilled in analyzing complex datasets, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights.

* Detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
* Executive management exposure: serves with a strong service mindset, delivering value to senior stakeholders.

Work Experience
* (Re)insurance knowledge: understanding of the insurance or reinsurance value chain, typical KPIs, and concepts like quota share and excess of loss treaties.
* 5-10 years of overall work experience, including 2-5 years of relevant work experience in underwriting operations, finance or other reporting roles.
Education
* BA/BS or equivalent in a business discipline. MBA and/or insurance industry designations (e.g., APA, CIP) are a plus.
