We are currently looking for a Senior CAPEX Project Manager responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of complex capital investment projects within regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Accountable for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with GMP and corporate standards.
The role includes leadership of external manufacturing and EPC/EPCM delivery partners across multi-disciplinary global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full project lifecycle delivery from feasibility and business case development through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and operational handover.
Manage medium to large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing and infrastructure capital projects, including cleanrooms, utilities, and production facilities.
Oversee external contractors, suppliers, and EPC/EPCM partners to ensure alignment with safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
Develop and maintain project execution plans, budgets, schedules, governance frameworks, and risk management strategies.
Ensure compliance with cGMP, GxP, EHS, validation, and corporate engineering standards throughout project execution.
Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Validation, Quality, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Drive project controls including cost management, forecasting, change control, and mitigation of project risks.
Lead project stage-gate reviews and provide clear reporting to senior leadership and investment governance stakeholders.
Support regulatory inspections, audits, and strategic manufacturing network initiatives.
Champion strong health, safety, and environmental performance across all project activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Process, or related discipline); advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of capital project delivery experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated life sciences environments.
Proven experience delivering large-scale capital projects, including programmes exceeding $25M.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing, cleanroom design, utilities, and validation principles.
Demonstrated leadership of large, cross-functional, and international project teams.
Extensive experience managing EPC/EPCM contractors and complex supply chains.
Advanced project management expertise in scheduling, budgeting, governance, and risk management.Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and executive reporting skills.
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
