Credit Control Team Leader – Fixed Term Contract
At RSA we’re all about adding value for our customers and stakeholders. Our Finance Department delivers meaningful, robust & accurate results to our Parent Company and to all areas around the business. We’re looking for a self-motivated individual who is a great communicator, a team player and always strives to make things better to join our team as a Credit Control Team Lead to continuously improve the Management of Debtors in RSA.
The role involves leading a team of 3 Credit Controllers to contribute in achieving operational and quality targets. The role will be a mix between assisting and supporting your team, resolving queries and problems, and helping to develop your teams professional and technical capabilities where appropriate, while also spending time in your core role. The candidate will report into the Head of Finance Operations
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and motivating new and existing team members to ensure KRI’s are met, to increase professional and technical capability and improve processes.
* Assisting the Head of Finance Operations developing the team to ensure operations targets are delivered including performance management and associated processes.
* Preparing or assist in preparing reports to be presented at local Committees
* Ensuring an appropriate control and compliance environment by preparing or reviewing controls and highlighting issues to the Head of Finance Operations
* Communicating and liaising with internal colleagues including the Financial Reporting Team, Underwriting, Claims, IT, Operations, Sales, Finance Business Partner, Shared Service Centre, and other colleagues around the business in order to check accuracy, give or obtain further information to resolve queries
* Supporting and encouraging the identification and implementation of appropriate new and/or better ways of doing things to improve processes and/or efficiency.
* Working closely with other team leader and the wider Finance team to effectively implement change and strategy to deliver agreed business benefits.
Requirements:
* Well to start with, you’ll need to be a driven and motivated team player with a hardworking can-do attitude and a passion for delivering to a high standard.
* You’ll need lots of initiative, an affinity for problem solving as well as an ability to work to set targets and remain calm under pressure.
* You will also be able to organise and prioritise your workload effectively.
* Naturally you will be an expert communicator who can relate well to customers and colleagues alike. Have previous experience in a Credit Control role
* If you have experience of the insurance sector, this is highly desirable, although not essential
* An understanding of regulations e.g. CPC code, Data Protection code
* Experience of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to an expert level
* Ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
* Experience managing small teams is desirable, but not essential
* Finally, a high level of enthusiasm, resilience and a good sense of fun will stand you in good stead
