The Vacancy
Jennings O'Donovan & Partners, part of RSK Group, is a leading engineering consultancy specialising in renewable energy sector and the water sector and in the provision of planning and environmental services.
We are currently recruiting for a number of Resident Engineers and Senior Resident Engineers (Civil) to join our growing team of construction professionals. These positions are available across multiple locations nationwide and offer the opportunity to contribute to a major programme of Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects delivered on behalf of Uisce Eireann.
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contracts
Key Responsibilities (depending on role level):
* Overseeing construction activities on-site and maintaining detailed project records.
* Managing communication and coordination with the Project Team.
* Acting as the point of contact for the Employer’s Representative.
* Managing and coordinating interface issues between contracts.
* Engaging with stakeholders throughout project delivery.
* Reviewing and reporting on Contractor claims and payment applications.
* Evaluating Contractor performance against KPIs and contract requirements.
* Reviewing and providing feedback on Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* Assessing design submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Addressing contractual and compliance issues on-site.
Candidate Requirements:
* Level 8 Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering.
* Resident Engineer: Minimum of 4 years’ relevant site supervision experience in civil engineering.
* Senior Resident Engineer: Minimum of 7 years’ experience, including significant on-site supervision, project management, and contract administration.
* Proven track record on major infrastructure projects such as water/wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pumping stations or large-scale civil works.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and regulatory compliance.
* Ability to produce accurate and detailed reports and maintain clear documentation.
* Familiarity with Quality Assurance Systems and construction contracts, experience in FIDIC and Public Works forms of contract would be advantageous.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general IT tools for reporting and documentation.
* Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills.
* Possession of a full clean driving licence.
