The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen by cleaning equipment, utensils, and work areas, and assisting with basic food preparation when required.Key Responsibilities:· Wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils efficiently.· Clean food preparation areas, kitchen surfaces, floors, and appliances to ensure hygiene standards are met.· Remove waste and recycling regularly, following site-specific disposal procedures.· Replenish stock of cleaning supplies, paper towels, and kitchen consumables.· Assist with unloading deliveries and storing food and equipment appropriately.· Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic food prep tasks when required.· Follow all food hygiene and health & safety guidelines.Maintain a clean and safe environment for kitchen and service staffPersonal Qualities:· Reliable, punctual, and hard-working.· A team player with a positive attitude.· Willing to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.· Strong sense of responsibility and cleanliness.· Excellent interpersonal skills· Full flexibility to work various shifts· Ability to work on short notice· Strong attention to detail with regards to cleaning standards· Superior Customer focusPractical:Ensure high standard of cleaning as directedPromote a high standard of customer service to Client employeesUse of cleaning and catering equipmentCare of equipmentCustomer Relations :Encourage good relations with all clients on contract sitePromptly deal with any customer queries or complaintsMaintain an efficient work practice in busy areas during service i.e. during any serviceTraining:Part take in induction training for new staffPart take in ongoing training from ISS internal or external training departmentsCooperate with safe working practices (manual handling/safe use of chemicals etc.)Adhere to all training in relation to food hygiene and cleaning so as to promote the higheststandard of safety and hygiene awarenessFollow all guidelines and training given by supervisor/trainer at all time in the foodenvironmentHSEQ:Understand how ISO fits into daily business operations.Read, understand and work in accordance with the company's HSEQ Policies.Complete tasks in accordance with company HSEQ procedures and work instructionsEnsure safe work practices and procedure are followed on siteUse of Personal Protective Clothing and EquipmentOther features of the jobIt may be necessary to work alternative hours, shift patterns or unsociable hours, including weekends and sometimes more than contracted hours. As part of your job, you will be expected to attend training events and/or meetings and travel to other locations may be required.
