Our client is seeking an Automation BMS Engineer to support a major Life Sciences capital expansion project in Cork. This role will focus on the design, integration, commissioning, and qualification of Building Management Systems (BMS), ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, compliance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as BMS subject matter expert on project delivery, supporting design, implementation, and qualification of new BMS infrastructure.
* Work with OEM vendors, system integrators, and internal stakeholders to ensure scope, standards, and specifications are fully met.
* Oversee the integration of BMS with site automation systems (PCS, SCADA, and Utility Automation Systems).
* Review and approve technical documentation (URS, FDS, SDS, FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ protocols).
* Ensure BMS design and configuration complies with GMP, GAMP5, and regulatory standards.
* Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT), commissioning, and handover activities.
* Support the commissioning and qualification teams during facility start-up.
* Provide technical troubleshooting and problem-solving during integration and commissioning.
* Ensure change control and documentation standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years’ experience working on Building Management Systems in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated environment.
* Hands-on knowledge of BMS platforms such as Siemens Desigo CC, Johnson Controls Metasys, or Honeywell systems.
* Strong understanding of HVAC systems, cleanroom controls, and critical utility monitoring.
* Experience with system integration across multiple automation platforms (BMS/PCS/EMS/SCADA).
* Solid understanding of GMP-regulated environments, including commissioning and qualification processes.
* Knowledge of network architectures and BMS interfacing protocols (BACnet, OPC, Modbus).
* Strong documentation and compliance background (URS, FDS, IQ/OQ, change control).
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
