Counsellor Therapist
Cpl Healthcare is seeking counsellors to deliver counselling services to children on a sessional basis across Cavan, Laois, Leitrim, Monaghan, Tipperary, Mayo, and Longford, on behalf of the Department of Education.
The role involves providing blocks of eight counselling sessions per referral.
Overview of duties:
- Adhere to the Code of Ethics of the relevant accrediting body
- Attend professional supervision while providing counselling
- Ensure consent and referral forms are completed and signed by parents
- Gather initial information as appropriate
- Complete and issue a summary report of interventions and strategies
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions
- Ensure confidentiality and data protection of sensitive information
- Participate in quality assurance exercises and programme evaluation
Qualifications:
An applicant must possess:
1. A recognized qualification at Level 7 (primary degree) or higher in a relevant human science
2. Plus one of the following:
2a. A degree or postgraduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy recognized by at least one of the following bodies: the Psychological Society of Ireland, Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, Irish Association for Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Irish Council for Psychotherapy, Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Irish Association of Psychotherapy and Play Therapy, or the Association of Child Art Psychotherapists.
2b. Full accredited membership with one of the above professional bodies.
2c. Two years (minimum of 150 hours) of supervised experience providing counselling to children.
OR
2d. A professional accredited qualification in child and adolescent counselling.
2e. Full accredited membership with one of the following: Psychological Society of Ireland, Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, Irish Association of Psychotherapy and Play Therapy, or the Association of Child Art Psychotherapists.
2f. One year of relevant supervised experience providing counselling to children.
