Housing Support Worker, Rental Accommodation Scheme, LimerickLocation: LimerickContract: Full-Time, Specific Purpose ContractThe purpose of this role is to provide support to Tenants that are currently in the RAS Scheme. Source alternative accommodation within the community due to Tenants under the RAS Scheme being on Notice of Terminations from their current Landlords and/or facilitating transfers for current RAS Tenants due to Social/Emotional or Physical needs. The aim of this service is to provide alternative accommodation for RAS Tenants that enables the Tenants to avail of a secure Tenancy under Rental Accommodation Scheme Guidelines & Policies.What you will do: Work as part of the Rental Accommodation Scheme (RAS) Team within Limerick City & County Council.Assess current or new RAS tenants for accommodation needs, transfers, and request additional supports to help sustain tenancies.Conduct community and home visits to engage with tenants and provide necessary support.Build and maintain links with local agencies, community groups, and services to promote tenancy sustainability and quality of life.Respond appropriately to Child Protection and Welfare concerns, following referral procedures with TUSLA and An Garda Síochána.Maintain accurate records and prepare monthly reports, liaising regularly with line managers and other housing departments.Ensure compliance with all relevant Council policies (Child Protection, Confidentiality, Health & Safety, etc.).Work a standard 37-hour week, with flexibility as required by Limerick City & County Council.What you will need: A third level qualification to degree level in Social Care i.e. Youth Work, Social Studies, Psychology, Addiction etc.Proven extensive experience working in a Social Care setting.Very good understanding of Child Protection and Welfare responsibilities.Ability to carry out Client Assessments i.e. Risk, Housing Needs Assessments etc.Ability and willingness to work alone.Ability to deal with challenging behaviour.Ability to work in a team setting.Willingness to develop professional skills as identified through supervision.Own car and have a full clean driving licence.An understanding of Social Housing Supports available to Clientele.
