Occupational Therapist – CAMHS
This role provides an opportunity to work as a Senior Occupational Therapist in a multidisciplinary team within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The successful candidate will have expertise in occupational therapy, with experience of working within mental health settings. They will be responsible for managing the occupational therapy service across CAMHS services, using evidence-based and patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and collaborate effectively with others. They will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, families and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at clinical bases and within clients homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate.
* Manage the occupational therapy service across CAMHS services, using evidence-based and patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
* Carry a complex caseload and complete occupational therapy-specific assessments and interventions.
* As part of the multidisciplinary team, complete some generic mental health work, such as initial intake assessments, and hold a key working role.
* Supervise a staff-grade occupational therapist.
Requirements:
* BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
* Full CORU registration.
* Three years of full-time post-qualification clinical experience.
* At least two years of experience working within mental health, preferably within CAMHS.
* Able to manage and develop self and others in a busy working environment.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and collaborate effectively with others.
