A leading underwriting agency within the Irish insurance market is seeking an experienced Claims Administrator to join its claims function. The organization provides a broad range of insurance services and places strong emphasis on trusted partnerships, integrity, and high-quality customer outcomes.Reporting to the Head of Claims, the Claims Administrator will be responsible for the efficient oversight, coordination, and administration of Third-Party Administrator (TPA)-managed claims.The role ensures effective TPA governance, accurate claims payment processing, and robust reporting to support operational and financial performance.The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, insurers, and external service providers, ensuring smooth claims handling and full compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and insurer expectations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. TPA Oversight & File Audit ManagementConduct regular audits of TPA-managed claims to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to service-level agreementsMonitor reserves, investigation quality, documentation standards, and timeliness of handlingIdentify discrepancies, elevate issues, and support corrective action plans with TPAsMaintain audit logs, summaries, and performance dashboards2. Claims Payment AuthorisationReview and validate payment requests for accuracy, policy coverage, settlement authority, and supporting documentationAuthorise payments within delegated authority levels and elevate where requiredEnsure all payments comply with financial controls and audit requirements3. Claims Reporting & AdministrationPrepare and distribute claims reports, MI, and dashboards for internal stakeholders and managementMaintain data integrity across claims systems and reporting toolsSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles, including insurer MI packsParticipate in claims reserve and review meetings with TPAs and insurersProvide claim summaries, documentation, and analytical input for insurer partnersTrack outcomes, agreed actions, and reserve or handling strategy changes5. Property Claims Administration & File ManagementManage administrative processes for property claims, including payment handlingLiaise with loss adjusters and external administrators on delegated authority mattersEnsure accurate documentation, evidence collation, and complete file management across all claim typesPrepare and reconcile batch payment files for internal finance or insurer processesWork closely with Finance to ensure accurate coding, allocation, and expenditure reportingEnsure all financial transactions are properly authorized, documented, and audit-readyKEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIESStrong analytical and auditing capabilityHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to interpret policy wordings and claims documentationStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsEffective organisation and workload prioritisationProficiency in claims management systems and MS Office SuiteUnderstanding of financial controls and claims payment processesEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS2+ years’ experience in claims administration or handling within general insuranceKnowledge of regulatory standards relevant to insurance claimsExperience working with insurers, brokers, or service providersExposure to TPA management and audit processes (advantageous but not essential)
