The core responsibility of the PRII CEO is to strategically lead and commercially drive the organisation forward, enhancing its influence and value within the Irish public relations landscape.
This requires a strong emphasis on member engagement, professional development, and industry advocacy.

Drive the Strategic Plan & Champion the PR Profession: Lead the delivery of the PRII's strategic plan and actively enhance the profile of the PR profession in Ireland, including advocating on emerging issues like AI.
Ensure Financial Stability & Grow Revenue: Maintain rigorous oversight of PRII finances for long-term sustainability and strategically expand diverse income streams.
Enhance Member Value & Drive Growth: Increase member engagement and satisfaction by addressing professional needs, providing valuable benefits, and implementing strategies for membership growth and retention.
Oversee Quality Education & Professional Development: Lead and expand PRII's educational programs, ensuring quality, industry relevance, and commercial viability.
Lead Commercial Event Success & Enhance Communications: Drive the success of PRII events and strategically bolster communication and marketing efforts, especially digitally.
Ensure Robust Corporate Governance: Adhere to best corporate governance practices, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining internal controls, and upholding transparency.
Cultivate Strategic Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, represent the PRII, and engage with international peer organisations.
Oversee Efficient Operational Management: Ensure the efficient daily functioning of the PRII, lead and develop staff, and leverage technology to optimise operations and member services.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and commercially astute leader with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
They will possess:
Significant experience in a membership organisation.
Solid commercial experience, with a strong understanding of revenue generation and financial management.
Experience in developing and delivering successful events.
Exceptional communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills.
Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a proven track record of delivering on strategic objectives and an ability to delegate operational detail.
The ability to drive and grow a small organisation.
Experience presenting to a board.
A proactive and self-directed approach, with the ability to work independently.
While not a prerequisite, experience with digital/social media tools and technologies is desirable, as well as a strong understanding of the Irish PR landscape and a passion for the PR profession.
