Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will provide time-limited tenancy support services to ensure tenancies are sustained. This includes assessing clients' needs, providing pre-tenancy training and support, processing HAP applications, and liaising with local councils.
Responsibilities
* Assess clients' needs to ensure they can live independently.
* Provide pre-tenancy training and support where necessary.
* Process HAP Applications and liaise with local councils.
* Offer Tenancy Sustainment to individuals requiring support to maintain their tenancy.
* Conduct detailed needs assessments to adequately support clients maintaining their accommodation.
* Mediate landlord-tenant disputes when necessary.
* Communicate with landlords about the service's operation.
* Develop time-limited support plans with agreed goals addressing individual tenant's needs.
* Adopt a case management approach, advocating on behalf of clients to achieve support plan goals.
* Liaise with various service providers to ensure services are available to service users.
* Provide resettlement and sustainment support monitoring rent and bill payments, budgeting, and social supports.
* Empower clients to respond to issues that arise by signposting them to relevant support agencies.
* Respond to social issues like addiction, mental health, domestic violence, child protection concerns, or anti-social behavior.
* Inform service users of their rights and responsibilities as tenants.
* Maintain high-quality services based on best practice models, responding to client needs.
* Collaborate with local department representatives, council officials, and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
Administrative & Other Responsibilities
* Participate in regular team meetings contributing to the Access Housing Unit's development.
* Ensure targets are achieved according to performance indicators and standards.
* Maintain accurate record keeping in line with Threshold policies.
* Represent the AHU and Threshold at external meetings, events, training, and forums.
* Perform duties assigned by the Assistant Manager and/or Regional Manager.
Requirements
* At least two years' experience in a similar/related role.
* Full clean driver's license and access to own vehicle.
* Non-judgmental and empathetic approach in dealing with service users.
* Ability to handle challenging behavior.
* Flexibility and commitment to high work standards and customer care.
* Practical experience with assessment, planned support, and advocacy for marginalized people.
