Occupational Therapist (Permanent)
Lotus Care provides a range of supports to children & adults with intellectual disabilities. We aim to empower people with the necessary skills to live full and satisfying lives as equal citizens of their local communities.

Job Purpose:
The Occupational Therapist will manage, plan and deliver Occupational Therapy Services within Lotus Care ensuring a high-quality person-centred service in line with best practice.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
1. Have overall responsibility and be accountable for the standards of practice, and the development of the Occupational Therapy service within Lotus Care.
2. Plan, manage and deliver Occupational Therapy service in Lotus Care.
3. Maintain and develop professional standards guided by evidence-based practice and relevant research.
4. Ensure professional ethics are adhered to in all aspects of service delivery.
5. Govern and support a continuous quality driven service.
6. Maximize the service owners' active involvement in the development of their care pathway.
7. Review Occupational Therapy caseload management for effective outcomes.
8. Manage time and caseload to meet changing service needs.
9. Work within multidisciplinary team frameworks.
10. Keep abreast of new developments and technologies.
11. Develop and review policies and procedures as required.
12. Anticipate changing demands on service and respond effectively.
13. Organize and attend meetings, prepare reports, and participate in committees.
14. Coordinate training and education for staff in Occupational Therapy.
15. Carry out all other duties appropriate to the post as assigned.
Leadership, Governance and Management
1. Develop a shared sense of commitment among staff in planning and development.
2. Maintain and report on the Occupational Therapy risk register.
3. Maintain good collaborative working relationships.
4. Promote innovation in service delivery.
5. Lead the strategic development of the Occupational Therapy service.
6. Manage KPIs within areas of responsibility.
7. Develop quality initiatives in consultation with relevant staff.
8. Participate in evaluations of the service.
9. Liaise with relevant stakeholders regarding complex service user care.
10. Ensure compliance with health and safety obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Be registered as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
2. Have a minimum of two years full-time post-qualification clinical experience.
3. Maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register at CORU.
4. Evidence of participation in continued professional development.
5. Hold a full clean driving license and access to a car.
6. Demonstrate competence in undertaking the duties attached to the office.
7. Previous health service management experience is preferred.
8. Experience working within the disability sector is an advantage.
9. Have a working knowledge of HIQA Standards relevant to the role.
10. Experience of service evaluation and planning.
11. Evidence of the ability to achieve results through effective collaboration.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Occupational Therapist - Lotus Care
Annual leave
The hours allocated to this post are 40 hours per week with a 7-hour standard working day. All employees will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months, with an extension if required to 9 months.
Garda Vetting: Lotus Care will carry out Garda vetting on all new employees. An employee will not take up employment until the Garda Vetting process has been completed.
Lotus Care will seek up to two written references from current and previous employers. Must hold a Full Irish Driving License and be willing to travel across our services in Kildare, Laois, Offaly & Westmeath.
