Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and oversee all project safety advisors under your supervision.
* Champion a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing the company’s HSE policies and procedures across the project.
* Conduct routine site inspections, reporting findings and ensuring timely resolution of any issues identified.
* Ensure the project team is equipped with all necessary HSE documentation.
* Verify that project-specific HSE plans align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Facilitate regular discussions on HSE matters during project review meetings.
* Maintain accurate records in line with internal policies and external audit standards.
* Support site management and subcontractors with risk assessments, evaluations, and documentation reviews when needed.
* Deliver HSE training sessions as agreed with the Project Manager.
* Propose and promote safety initiatives and forward recommendations to the Project and HSE & Sustainability Managers.
* Assist in incident investigations and ensure timely and effective closure of incident reports and inspection findings.
* Act as liaison with regulatory bodies such as the HSA and EPA when required.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE practices and report them accordingly.
* Represent the company at relevant HSE meetings and forums.
* Support managers with environmental and safety submissions, assessments, and vendor evaluations.
* Consistently uphold and promote the company’s HSE ethos and values.
* Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
* Degree-level (Level 8) qualification in Health & Safety or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in project HSE management.
* Proven track record as a Chartered Project Safety Advisor.
* In-depth knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards.
* Chartered Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
* Demonstrated capability to lead and manage major accident investigations.
