OverviewThe Manufacturing and Lab Security Analyst II is a member of the Information Security Team - which performs analysis on cyber threats, reviews and triages security alerts, and other suspicious system or network activity with a focus on Lab and Manufacturing environments. The Manufacturing and Lab Security Analyst identifies methods to mitigate future risks to networked systems.The Manufacturing and Lab Security Analyst researches external malicious cyber activity to proactively identify ways to mitigate risk to the network. Also, as part of the Information Security Team the Manufacturing and Lab Security Analyst will be a liaison between the Lab and Manufacturing user community.ResponsibilitiesDuties and ResponsibilitiesIdentify and implement solutions to mitigate risk to the Lab or Manufacturing environmentsAnalyze vulnerabilities and threats, determine their potential impact, and recommend strategies for risk preventionAssist with network segmentation projectsTest new network security systems and changes to the existing network security deviceDevelop technical project plans, requirement documentation, test plans, change requests, and communications to usersThis position will maintain frequent contact with the Lab and Manufacturing user community as well as external vendors to maintain communications related to problem resolution, systems upgrades, services, and product researchEnsure compliance with relevant security standards, policies, and regulationsCoordinate efforts among multiple groups to enhance mitigation efforts, improve security posture, and avoid duplication of effortsExternal AwarenessStay up to date on cyber security news and trendsResearch vulnerabilitiesProactively find opportunities to mitigate potential threatsProactively identify any patterns within device and server logs to potentially identify systems of interest through log analysisQualificationsRequired Minimum:An understanding of TCP/IP network protocols and application layer protocols (e.g., HTTP, SMTP, DNS, etc.)Good understanding of WindowsStrong solid grasp of security tools and devicesFamiliarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)Ability to work independently toward delivery of goals as well as collaborate in team effortsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesPreferredBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Engineering, or equivalent experienceCompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalentSkill in coordinating and managing projectsSkill in building consensus among partners and colleaguesExperience:2+ years experience in various cyber security, lab, or manufacturing rolesAdditional InformationOccasional off-hour/on-call support is vital.
