Vickerstock are working in partnership with a major manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Head of HSE.
As the Head of HSE, you will take a lead on all aspects of HSE performance and will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement to in-house standards, systems and procedures, managing compliance and best practices across the business.
In your new role: Provide strategic direction and leadership on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) matters, ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance Design and implement change initiatives to foster a proactive and engaged safety culture across all levels of the organisation Influence and support leadership and supervisory teams in fulfilling their HSE duties under legislation and company policy Oversee the rollout of safety campaigns, initiatives, and continuous improvement Establish and monitor HSE performance indicators and metrics, reporting progress to the Executive Team Maintain and update HSE strategies, policies, and documentation to ensure alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and local legislation Manage internal inspections and audits, analysing trends and ensuring corrective actions are effectively addressed Deliver and coordinate HSE training programmes to raise awareness and promote best practices throughout the business Lead, develop, and support the HSE team, including budget oversight, activity planning, and collaboration with external regulatory bodies and clients What you will need to succeed: 5+ years' experience within a similar role - Manufacturing/Engineering Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc) Experience with ISO standards and auditing (ISO ) Organisational, analytical, leadership and planning skills Excellent communication skills Ability to travel internationally (as required) Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): Environmental or Quality certifications NEBOSH Diploma For a more detailed brief and a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
