Business Development Manager - Contract Logistics Location: Dublin, covering Ireland Employment type: Full time, Permanent, Hybrid, On-Road My Client, a global transport and logistics company, based in Dublin is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their sales team, due to significant growth. This role is critical for expanding the business through a strong local presence and relationship development. Objectives Create and close new logo opportunities through cold outreach, networking, and identifying prospects within your assigned territory. Develop and retain a smaller portfolio of existing customers. Convert new customer relationships into secured deals. Responsibilities Acquire new accounts by identifying and converting qualified leads to achieve top-line growth. Maintain and develop a small existing account portfolio, focusing on Net Growth Targets. Prioritize opportunities using market insights, segmentation data, and prospecting tools. Use CRM and analytics to refine sales strategies and improve conversion rates. Generate interest and qualify opportunities via outbound calls, in-person visits, and digital outreach. Conduct sales meetings with potential customers throughout the sales process. Apply solution- and value selling methods to build trust and successfully close deals. Manage time and territory effectively to ensure continuous prospecting and coverage of local opportunities. Maintain CRM accuracy and a healthy sales pipeline. Actively share customer feedback with the internal team to enhance sales approaches. Collaborate closely with operations for a smooth onboarding of new customers. Sales Proficiency: Exceptional skills in prospecting, qualification, and closing new logo opportunities. Customer Relationship Management: Strong rapport-building abilities for long-term customer trust. Effective time and territory management. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of logistics services and solutions to confidently convey their value. Competence in solution and value selling. Pipeline Management: Skilled in using a CRM system to track, advance, and manage a systematic sales pipeline. Key requirements Extensive experience in a sales role. Background in business development. Experience of logistics is desired. Drivers license and willingness to travel.
