Description

Enable Ireland is seeking highly motivated Adult Services Support Workers to join our team in Meath Adult Services based in Bailis.

Contract Type: Relief

Contract Hours: Various: Relief – shift work including sleepovers, waking nights and weekends

Salary Scale: The current salary scale for this post is €32,639 to €39,499 pro rata per annum based on a 39-hour week. Basic hourly rate ranges from €16.09 p/h to €19.48 p/h (entry point on scale dependent upon experience). Premium payments apply for relevant shifts.

Pay scale note: This pay scale is subject to increases in 2025 in accordance with the WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations. Salary scales are subject to Long Service Increments (LSI).

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post:

Enable Ireland North East provides supported living to individuals with a primary physical disability. The service is based on partnership, dignity and respect. The Adult Support Worker will be responsible for assisting service users to maintain their independence by supporting and caring for them to enable them to live the life they choose in their local community.

The role involves facilitating the person with a disability in all aspects of daily living, including personal and domestic care, mobility, accessing services in the community, and supporting therapy and other programmes. The role is tailored to the requirements of the individual service user.

The successful candidate will:

* Have completed a relevant Health Skills QQI Level 5 qualification or other relevant Health/Social Care qualification, or be currently undertaking a relevant Health Skills QQI Level 5 qualification with a commitment to complete within 2 years.
* Have previous experience of working with adults with disabilities in the health care sector.
* Have a minimum of 1 year of delivering personal care in a health or social care context.
* Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Be willing to drive service-assigned vehicles.
* Be available for an immediate start.

Additional requirements include experience working with individuals who have acquired brain injury, epilepsy, or behaviours of concern, and experience supporting people with disabilities in community settings.
