Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with HV Project experience to join our growing Transmission & Distribution team based in the Republic of Ireland. The role focuses on large‑scale grid infrastructure, grid connections, private networks, renewable energy projects and hyperscale data centres.
Responsibilities
Primary plant layouts for HV substations
Equipment specifications for HV plant and associated equipment
Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
Providing HV design input to renewable energy projects (e.g., battery storage, solar, hydro and wind generation)
Providing professional services to clients in Ireland, the UK and overseas
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience working on HV projects
Experience working with major utilities or developers
Experience as a designer or project engineer
Experience developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS and AIS switchgear
Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
Fluency in English
Experience in technical report writing
Full driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for site visits
Ideally experience on multi‑discipline engineering projects
Ideally hold Chartered accreditation or working toward status
Ideally consultancy experience
Ideally experience reviewing detailed designs and witnessing construction site activities
