Electrical Engineering Officer Role Overview
As an Electrical Engineering Officer, you will play a crucial role in the Naval Service fleet. This position involves designing, procuring, installing, and maintaining various systems within the fleet, including power generation and distribution, navigation systems, communication systems, weapons systems, environmental systems, and maintenance of the Naval Service IT infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:
• Design, procure, install, and maintain electrical and electronic systems within the Naval Service fleet.

• Develop and implement plans to improve system performance and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* A recognized Bachelor Degree (Honours) at level 8 or higher of the National Framework of Qualifications in either Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
* Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
Benefits:
The Naval Service offers a competitive basic starting salary of €57,955 with yearly increments. Additionally, personnel receive an approximate allowance of €20,570 per annum. Overseas service allowances are not included in this calculation.
Other Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
* Be a citizen of the Irish State or have a legal entitlement to reside and work in the State for the period of any such appointment.
* Meet the required minimum standards of medical and physical fitness as assessed during the recruitment process.
* Have a qualification deemed equivalent to the above by the Minister for Defence.
* Be less than 50 years of age on 31 December in the year of application.
